A TRADITION OF ART
Grab-a-Java is known for fun banners that grab coffee lovers’ attention. Founder Pete Lazare began the banners as a way to generate some buzz. The banners were a hit, and Springfield residents and Pete even did an art show displaying some of his favorite banners.

Pete is no longer with us, but we hope by continuing the creative banners that we are honoring him and that he would approve of how we are carrying his tradition forward. We keep the tradition of art alive today by celebrating diverse voices, timeless techniques, and the bold innovation that shapes our culture.
PETE’S BANNERS
Pete had no artistic background when he began creating the cheeky banners using paint overruns on drop cloths, but with creativity and passion, he started a tradition that continues today and is loved by our coffee community.
